Weekend Workshop Option 1
Day 1: Reveal and Optimize Your Asana Strategy – all levels (2-2.5 hours)
Take your practice to the next level by observing your personal approach to asana. Reveal your tendencies and find the approach that will best balance your practice, maximizing your engagement in every pose in order to achieve your optimal state of strength and flexibility.

Day 2: Inversions – Alignment and Techniques – all levels (2-2.5 hours)
Learn the techniques and fundamentals behind your basic and more advanced inversions like headstand, shoulderstand, handstand and forearm balance. Get rid of that fear that may be holding you back from getting further in your practice. Once you learn the basics and you have the strength, there is nothing that can stop you. Rina will help you feel confident and strong in your inverted poses.

Weekend Workshop Option 2
Day 1: The Core Workshop – all levels (2 hours)
Learn some drills that will enhance your core strength and develop your awareness of the bandhas.  Experience the need for both elements in order to maximize your practice.

Day 2: Balancing Poses – Arms and Legs – Alignment and Techniques – all levels (2 hours)
Creating arm and leg strength in Yoga is not hard. You just have to understand the techniques and proper alignment. From the most basic to the more advanced poses, come experience how empowering these poses can be. (No inversions.)

YOGA AS YOUR LIFESTYLE

1. Introduction to Yoga – Basics – all levels (2-2.5 hours)
Learn the different styles and paths of Yoga, basic techniques, proper alignment and all you need to know to feel confident and comfortable in your practice.

2. Pranayama (Breathing) and Meditation – Techniques – all levels (2 hours)
Breath is essential for one’s progression in practice. Breath can help your growth if you learn how to properly use it. Learn the basic breathing techniques like Ujjayi breath, and why you do them. If you can control your breath, you can control your mind. Meditation is a huge aspect in yoga. Learning the basics will help your concentration and focus.

3. Bandhas and their Benefits – Techniques and Practices – more experienced practitioners (2 hours)
Learn the basic techniques and principles to the three main energy locks (bandhas) in your body.  Once you can tap into these areas and access them at will, your practice and posture will change dramatically.

4. VIP Yoga Sutras and Yoga Philosophy – Translations – all levels (2-2.5 hours)
From the many sutras that Patanjali has left to us, we will discuss the handful that are the most important and that will most influence our lives positively.   Gain a new perspective on your life with these sacred teachings and their translations.

5. Raja Yoga – Eight-Limbed Path of Yoga – all levels (2-3 hours)
Raja Yoga is broken down into eight steps that help you understand the process of yoga and self-transformation better.  We will discuss all eight with an included explanation and application.  You will learn a new way of approaching your daily activities and behaviors, in addition to incorporating new disciplines that will benefit your well being, which include physical practice and breathing techniques.

6. A Yoga Teacher’s Teaching Tool Kit  – Teachers in Training and Teachers (3-4 hours)
Learn and apply tips and techniques that will make you a better teacher right away.  Learn observation and communication techniques that will allow you to deepen your understanding of your students and of your own practice as well.  Take your teaching to the next level!

7. Defining Stress and Reducing It Consciously  – all levels (2 hours)
Learning the practical definition of stress will enable you to learn and apply tools that will help you cope with stress and reduce it with your control and conscious intention.  Learn tips today that will help you immediately.  Get empowered to change your overwhelmed mental state.

YOGA AS YOUR PRACTICE

1. Sun Salutations – Alignment and Techniques- all levels (2-2.5 hours)
Learn all the basics and fundamentals of the techniques behind a Sun Salutation.

2. Standing Poses – Alignment and Techniques – all levels (2-2.5 hours)
Focus on correct alignment and technique of the common standing poses taught in most yoga classes. Learning these fundamentals will help you prevent injuries and advance your practice.

3. Vinyasas (Jump-throughs and Jump-backs) – Alignment and Techniques – all levels (2-2.5 hours)
Ah! The famous vinyasa. Find out how to do it, step by step. Once you learn the proper technique behind each movement individually then you can make it flow. And, the fact you can’t do it now, is NOT because your arms are too short.

4. Forward Bends and Back Bends – Alignment and Techniques – all levels (2 hours)
Discover the fundamentals behind bending backwards and forwards. Open your back, hips, hamstrings and quads, in order to deepen your flexibility of bending.

5. Shoulder and Hip Openers – Alignment and Techniques – all levels (2 hours)
Learn new and safe ways to open your shoulders and hips.  Open shoulders allow for a more flexible spine and chest maximizing range of motion. Open your hips in order to optimize your flexibility and prevent injury.

6. Partner Yoga – Assisted Stretches and Body Origami – all levels/couples (2-2.5 hours)
Learn new ways of experiencing poses with a partner to help you go deeper into poses. Being open to new postures allows your practice to grow on different levels.

7. Develop your Ujjayi and Vinyasa! – all levels (2 hours)
In this workshop you will learn how to cultivate a deeper ujjayi breath or if you haven’t found it yet, you will get to discover it for the first time.  Once we have established our Ujjayii, we will breakdown the Vinyasa sequence of plank, chaturanga(bottom of the push-up), up-dog and down-dog in order to maximize your benefits and get stronger!
